This book covers the original hand bill posters (mostly text, not artistic) of the 1950's, the psychedelic 1960s, and the punk era of the 1970s and early 80s. As well as anything else that occurred from the 1950s until the early 80's. There's a very heavy focus on the 1960s, with the entire Family Dog and Bill Graham poster series covered here. There's so much material and commentary here that the posters are shrunk down to fit as many examples as possible. There's full index at the end of the book, and an exhaustive bibliography. This is an absolute must own book on the subject of rock posters.
